About HEALTH HUB
Plain-English explanations of health insurance, written to be checked
Health insurance has its own vocabulary, and it can be hard to know which terms matter when you are comparing plans. HEALTH HUB exists to make premiums, deductibles, provider networks, and enrollment questions easier to follow, one article at a time.
We are an independent publication dedicated solely to insurance literacy. We do not sell insurance, and nothing here is personalized advice.
Our principles
How we handle sources and language
Every explanation is drawn from public policy documents and standard plan contracts. Where a term has several meanings across insurers or states, we say so and define the version an article uses. We avoid steering language and do not rank plans as a single answer for everyone.
Our separation is strict: educational analysis stays editorial, and no article is written to promote a private policy sale. When a question depends on an individual's circumstances, we point readers toward the documents and questions to bring to a qualified advisor.
Our review method
Each article is checked before publication
01
Trace the source
Each claim is matched to a public policy document, plan summary, or standard contract language before drafting begins.
02
Define the terms
Jargon is explained in plain English at first use, with the definition we rely on stated clearly.
03
Review for steering
Drafts are read for neutral wording, avoiding guarantees, fear-based warnings, and claims that one plan suits everyone.
04
Correct and date
When rules or documents change, we revise the article and note the update so readers can see what has changed.
